Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. This year was fun since both kids understand the concept and have been looking forward for weeks to Trick-or-Treat! We made jack-o-laterns, and when I say "we" I mean Andy and I. Emma and Quin started out strong but dwindled toward the end. Quin got bored and I think the pumpkin was a little too messy after a while! Such her mother's child, sigh!
We had the amazing Green Family over for dinner and Becky was awesome enough to bring crafts! I have to say the spider suckers are pretty cute even though a real one 1/100th of that size could get me screaming like a little girl and jumping on counters and furniture without a second thought!
We did Boo At The Zoo and enjoyed it. There was plenty to do and see. It was a perfect day. The weather was delightful! The kids got their face painted, road the carousel, and received candy from people! You wouldn't think that it could get any better... or could it! We had our church's Chili cook-off and trunk or treat! Good food, great company and MORE CaNdY... oh yeah, it just got better!

This is my all time favorite shirt. There's a double meaning in that! hehe Actually three if you count the fact that I'm kind of a witch! There is two stories that make this shirt extremely appropriate for me! Don't worry, I'll use the Reader's Digest version!
I am going to bore you with the details so you can stop reading now...
1) When I was 20 my family had the missionaries over for dinner and I was reiterating a recent adventure that left me stranded in Virginia/ D.C. An 4 hour bus ride to Dulles Airport from SVU and a 5 hour plane ride back to AZ turned into a 36 hour extravaganza filled with hurt (unable to drive) bus drivers, missed flights, airport "sleep over", R&R at the Dreyer's home, broken planes, 2 bumped flights (benefits of flying stand-by), a lay-over in Vegas and all with little to no sleep! When I get home around 2 am I'm having to drive home "with a stick". As I related the last part about driving a stick, the Elder from Germany didn't understand. My dad, without skipping a beat, said "when she says 'stick' she means 'broom'. Mean, but true. Of course, both Elders understood that part of the story! Love ya Dad!
2) The more recent story, about 5 years ago, is from Andy's niece, Alexia,who is about 10 at the time, was ranting about something that was upsetting her. It obviously was bothering her but Andy and I found it comical. It resulted with Andy responding with a "well, if the shoe fits..." Alexia as though she had responded to that response 1,000 times said "if the shoe fits your face!" Andy & I couldn't help but laugh. That response is stilled used in this household!
